Shanghai Container Terminals Ltd (SCT) is a joint venture between Shanghai Port Container Co. Ltd (SPC) and Hutchison Ports Shanghai Ltd (HPSL). A 50-50 joint venture between Hong Kong and Shanghai, SCT consists of a total investment of RMB5.6 billion and has a registered capital of RMB2 billion. The agreement is effective for 50 years.

SCT offers a comprehensive range of services which include: loading and unloading of cargoes, storage and transportation of containers, container transfers, container cleaning, shipping agency, freight agency, provision of electronic data exchange and the operation of inland depot freight stations and container transshipment stations in Shanghai. The company, bearing the slogan, "Put Your Business in the Best Hands", continuously releases new services to meet the special needs of its customers. STC's container terminals offer a superior quality service system in accordance with ISO9001:2000 requirements, to ensure the safe and timely shipment of all cargoes for its customers.
